Participants will create a quilt as you go block that can be used as a table runner, quilt block or tote. No prior quilting experience needed. These skills and ideas will help engage students in a variety of creative and constructive techniques that will allow for creativity, textile construction, problem solving and ownership of their finished project. A unique and rewarding way to build the love of sewing and a gateway into the world of quilting that is accessible to students of all ages. Participants will gain insights on creating an inclusive environment for leadership development, and enhancing communication and collaboration within their chapters. This session will introduce homestyler as an easy means for students to visualize their designs in three dimensions. No experience is expected however participants will need to bring a lap top computer and have created a free account with homestyler.com before the session begins.
