A crash course on how to design for and use the Shaper Origin handheld CNC

Participants will learn about the workflow for using the Shaper Origin (design, prep, cutting, finishing) as well as tips and tricks derived from use with my students. Several project ideas will be presented and attendees (number permitting) will all have the chance to operate the Shaper Origin.

Students will work in teams to have a hands on learning experience as they participate in this simple low cost activity of comparing non-renewable resources and renewable resources for providing the world with its energy needs. This activity is great for Engineering Technology and Introduction Technology Education classes

This session will cover the steps required to take a student with any level of CAD experience to a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA). First we will cover the process of accessing the free curriculum. Second we will review the lesson structure and contents. Lastly, we will work through the first lesson and answer any remaining questions.
