Authentic learning is an educational approach that connects what students learn in school to real-world situations and problems. It's also known as active learning.

A student showcase is an event that highlights students' work, skills, and talents to the community. Showcases can take many forms, including: Workshops, Performances, Networking events, Gallery nights, and Award ceremonies.

Join me as we explore the last 10 years of a philosophy change in how I communicate the progression of student learning, what a grade means, and how that works in a hands-on class environment. It’s been a journey full of glorious failures and incredible mind shifts. I’ll share how I’ve been able to make this work in over 10 different classes I’ve taught from construction to robotics and health to German.
