This presentation will give an overview of Salt Lake Tech, part of Salt Lake Community College, and their experience connecting students with industry. We hope to offer our perspective to questions like: What does it take to create a successful partnership? What kinds of events are beneficial to students and industry? and How can higher education best prepare students for their transition to a career?
Participants will learn about the workflow for using the Shaper Origin (design, prep, cutting, finishing) as well as tips and tricks derived from use with my students. Several project ideas will be presented and attendees (number permitting) will all have the chance to operate the Shaper Origin.
Attendees will learn how to use their smartphone to capture a 3d replica of themselves, slice it, and send it to a 3d printer. Classroom applications will also be discussed.
