This class will focus on fundraising and running a class business that can effectively teach students essential skills aligned with various educational strands and standards.
Through showcasing hands-on projects, we will show how students can engage in real-world applications of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and teamwork. We will show how we set goals, assign roles, and execute the class business day.

NourishSmart- Foods Waste Reduction Program

This workshop introduces NourishSmart, a program developed by Utah State University's Hunger Solutions Institute and Utah Agriculture in the Classroom to address hunger and food waste in communities across Utah. The goal is to share this curriculum with CTE teachers, equipping them with valuable resources to incorporate food waste education into their courses. The program aligns with multiple course standards and strands, including biology, Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS), nutrition and dietetics, health sciences, and environmental sciences, making it an adaptable tool for various educational settings.

Introduction to Homestyler: A free online application used to create and render 3-dimensional interior designs

This session will introduce homestyler as an easy means for students to visualize their designs in three dimensions. No experience is expected however participants will need to bring a lap top computer and have created a free account with homestyler.com before the session begins.
