About me
Dr. Andersen has been teaching mathematics and chemistry at the college level since 1998, as well as writing curriculum for mathematics and developing digital products for learning. Outside of academia, she built iPad games to teach algebra, launched the Canvas Network MOOC platform, built adaptive learning math platforms used by McGraw Hill, and worked as the Director of Learning Design for WGU. As a professor, Dr. Andersen was president of MichMATYC, the first Professional Development Coordinator for AMATYC, the Director of the MCC Math & Technology Workshop, and wrote the “Teaching with Tech” column for MAA Focus. She built a successful EdTech software company, Coursetune and exited it successfully in 2021. Dr. Andersen is now having new adventures in K-12 teaching mathematics, science, and business to grades 6-12 at Beehive Science and Technology Academy.
